Suzie Toews, MSW, has worked with foster and adoptive families for over 30 years as a clinical social worker and therapist.  It wasn’t until a year ago, when she and her husband were blessed with an adoptive son, that Suzie was able to see not just the THEORETICAL, or the REPORTS from foster and adoptive families, but was able to EXPERIENCE it herself, firsthand. Suzie will share attachment theory along with stories that demonstrate how God changes us when we are obedient to HIS will in ministering to the orphans of the world.

Two Weeks To Go....

In less than two weeks we have the opportunity to spend a very inspiring time together and hear Dr. Ken Hutcherson give his vision for orphan care ministry.  This is both a reminder and an encouragement.  A reminder not to forget Friday, January 27th at 7pm at Christ the Redeemer Church.  An encouragement to invite a friend to join you.

We have an opportunity to be a voice for children throughout our state, our country and around the world.  This is a population who in all other respects do not have anyone to speak up for them.  We as believers have the opportunity to speak up for orphans and then IF CALLED to take them into our families.  The churches in Colorado have caught the vision to work together to take care of children in their state and, by God's Grace, they have cut the number of children in the state foster care system in half.  "What can we do TOGETHER that we could never do SEPARATELY?" for the children in our city, in our state, in our country and around the world?

Project 1.27 is an example of what the churches in Colorado are doing TOGETHER to care for orphans in their state.  Their mission, "to recruit, train, and support parents from local churches to adopt or foster children in Colorado's foster care system."

Hutch Speaks in Less Than 3 Weeks

In less than 3 weeks Dr. Ken Hutcherson will be coming to Spokane to speak.  On Friday, January 27th, "Hutch" will speak on, "What can we do TOGETHER that we could never do SEPARATELY."  You might not know anything about Ken Hutcherson.
Here is a piece of Hutch's "testimony":
He says, "Enduring segregation and discrimination, being told he wasn’t good enough, having to sit at the back of the bus and being physically violated reinforced Ken’s point of view. It forced retaliation. It forced hatred. “I was driven by hatred. Driven.”  How is it then that "Hutch" is now married to a white German lady and has "German Chocolate" children?  How is it that "Hutch" pastor's a church where 65% of the congregation is white?  He says, “Love changed me.”
